Committees
NJLCA is always looking for a few good men and women! Below are the committees we run and what is involved in them!
Responsibilities: Recruitment of members to the committee. Coordination of the Arbor Day celebration at a local school, the PLANET Day of Service/Earth Project, and evaluating how the NJLCA can become more involved in Project Evergreen. Must provide monthly reports (or statement that there is no report for the month). Must stay within budget, unless special request is made to the Combined Board for more funds. Preparations should begin the previous fall for the next year’s events.
Responsibilities: Recruitment of members to the committee. Coordinate with committee changes requested by members or Combined Board to the by-laws. Assess and verify that by-laws are being followed. Must provide monthly reports (or statement that there is no report for the month). Must stay within budget, unless request is made to the Combined Board for more funds.
Responsibilities: Recruitment of members to the committee. Coordinate with committee to provide a budget by the August Board Meeting. Assess and verify that budget is being abided by, and/or make adjustments as approved by the Combined Board. Must provide monthly reports (or statement that there is no report for the month).
Responsibilities: Recruitment of members to the committee. Coordinate with committee to prepare for Certification (LICT) Exam. Assess changes required by NALP and put them into effect. Review exam evaluation and make changes necessary to meet expectations. Coordinate setup and take down of exam. Review tools and materials and make recommendations on needs. Must provide monthly reports (or statement that there is no report for the month). Must stay within budget, unless request is made to the Combined Board for more funds.
Responsibilities: Recruitment of members to the committee. Coordinate with committee to evaluate current educational opportunities for members. Initiate new educational opportunities as needed. Work with membership committee to secure speakers for monthly meetings. Must provide monthly reports (or statement that there is no report for the month). Must stay within budget, unless request is made to the Combined Board for more funds.
Responsibilities: Coordinate with paid staff on issues regarding employment, compensation, etc. Perform annual employee reviews. Evaluate growth opportunities for employees that will benefit the association. Handle comments, questions, and complaints from employees. Assess and verify that employment laws are being followed. Must provide monthly reports (or statement that there is no report for the month). Must stay within budget, unless request is made to the Combined Board for more funds.
Responsibilities: Recruitment of members to the committee. Coordinate with committee to evaluate current Insurance and Investment products used and recommend new services as needed. Must provide monthly reports (or statement that there is no report for the month). Must stay within budget, unless request is made to the Combined Board for more funds.
Responsibilities: Recruitment of members to the committee. Coordinate with committee on items affecting membership and the industry. Attend legislative events in New Jersey and occasionally Washington, DC. Provide updates via newsletter and at membership meetings. Must provide monthly reports (or statement that there is no report for the month). Must stay within budget, unless request is made to the Combined Board for more funds.
Responsibilities: Recruitment of members to the committee. Coordinate with committee on outgoing media so as to put the Association in the best light. Suggest article topics or recruit articles from industry experts and leaders. Work with all committees to make announcements based on their activities. Must provide monthly reports (or statement that there is no report for the month). Must stay within budget, unless request is made to the Combined Board for more funds. Must hold at least quarterly meetings via any means.
Responsibilities: Recruitment of members to the committee. Coordinate with committee to recruit members for both the Combined Board and all other committee Chair positions. Must create a slate of nominees and announce them to the membership. Must provide monthly reports (or statement that there is no report for the month). Must stay within budget, unless request is made to the Combined Board for more funds. Also need to review and recommend annual lifetime, exempt, honorary, etc. nominations.
Responsibilities: Provide safety information for monthly membership meetings and website. Update board/membership on new safety laws and regulations.
